Speech and Debate

WELCOME

The St. Paul High School Speech & Debate Program Squad is under the direction of Mrs. Anna Dickan, Speech and Debate Coach. The speech and debate program was founded by current senior Jeremy Lee in Fall of 2017, as he envisioned to make St. Paul High School one of the top debate teams in the country.

According to the National Speech and Debate Website, "The activity of speech and debate is an academic sport. Similar to athletic sports, speech and debate activities are challenging, competitive in nature, and require regular practice, coaching, dedication, and hard work."

Mission Statement

The St. Paul Speech and Debate Squad gives students the chance to improve their public speaking, research, and persuasive writing skills. Members will have the opportunity to express their opinions in an organized manner, while in a welcoming environment.
