Recommended: A “C” or better in first semester of Algebra 1. Freshmen must pass with a
score of 70% or better on the Geometry Placement Examination.

This course is a study of geometric skills and concepts. Students will study the properties of the
various geometric figures from line and angle relationships to congruent and similar triangles
and on into polygons, circles, prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones and spheres. They will explore and apply the principles of inductive and deductive reasoning in studying parallelism,
congruence, similarity, area and volume.
