The City of Hope’s Bridge to the Future Healthcare Summer Program is aimed to expose high school students to real world experience in a hospital and meet world renowned doctors. Participants are given the opportunity to witness some laboratories, research centers, instructional workshops given by doctors and surgeries. The City of Hope is one of the comprehensive cancer centers, the highest designation bestowed by the National Cancer Institute for excellence in cancer treatment, research, prevention and education. City of Hope is also ranked as one of “Americas Best Hospitals” in cancer by U.S. News and report.
Sedillo was able to participate in lectures given by cancer research doctors and pharmacy technician doctors and gain valuable knowledge and experience from some of the best doctors in the nation.
“It was an eye opener for me because I discovered modes of science that I never even thought of. It is definitely a revelation and an experience that will help me in college and the rest of my life as I continue to follow my passion of working in the Healthcare industry.” Says Robert Sedillo.” The City of Hope’s Bridge to the Future Healthcare did not just tell me the different opportunities in the healthcare genre but it opened my eye to a whole new foundation in the limitless possibilities of science.
