Sr. Robert Sedillo is First to Participate in City of Hope's Bridge to the Future Healthcare Program

Santa Fe Springs, CALIF. – St. Paul High School is pleased to announce Senior Robert Sedillo is first student to participate in the City of Hope’s Bridge to the Future Healthcare Summer Program. Robert Sedillo was chosen to participate and attend the Summer Program from July 15-16 to experience, firsthand, hospital life including surgeries, research and meeting world renown doctors.

 

“We are very excited and proud of Robert to be chosen and represent St. Paul High School in the first ever Bridge to the Future Healthcare Summer Program.” said Kate Aceves, Principal of St. Paul High School. “Robert is a very bright and eager young man and very passionate of the field of Healthcare and we know this is a life changing experience for him.”

The City of Hope’s Bridge to the Future Healthcare Summer Program is aimed to expose high school students to real world experience in a hospital and meet world renowned doctors. Participants are given the opportunity to witness some laboratories, research centers, instructional workshops given by doctors and surgeries. The City of Hope is one of the comprehensive cancer centers, the highest designation bestowed by the National Cancer Institute for excellence in cancer treatment, research, prevention and education. City of Hope is also ranked as one of “Americas Best Hospitals” in cancer by U.S. News and report.

Sedillo was able to participate in lectures given by cancer research doctors and pharmacy technician doctors and gain valuable knowledge and experience from some of the best doctors in the nation.

“It was an eye opener for me because I discovered modes of science that I never even thought of. It is definitely a revelation and an experience that will help me in college and the rest of my life as I continue to follow my passion of working in the Healthcare industry.” Says Robert Sedillo.” The City of Hope’s Bridge to the Future Healthcare did not just tell me the different opportunities in the healthcare genre but it opened my eye to a whole new foundation in the limitless possibilities of science.
