Dear St. Paul High School Community,
The Department of Catholic Schools is excited to announce that Mr. Robert Miller has been appointed as the next principal of St. Paul High School beginning July 1, 2020. Department of Catholic Schools leadership felt strongly that Mr. Miller possesses the experience, passion, business acumen, strategic vision, and love for St. Paul that is the right fit to lead the school through this unprecedented period in history.
Mr. Miller has been passionately serving in Catholic education for over 31 years, starting with a coaching job at a Catholic school while he was still in college. During his long tenure at St. Paul High School, he has served in a variety of capacities, including Head Basketball Coach, Technology Coordinator, Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Faculty Supervision, and Assistant Principal of Advancement. Mr. Miller earned his undergraduate degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration from National University.
Mr. Miller knows the significance of being part of the St. Paul Family. He is a proud parent of two Swordsmen, Caleb (’13) and Christian (’16), and after 20 years serving the St. Paul High School Community, he has truly become a Swordsman himself. “I am excited and honored to be selected to serve as the next Principal of St. Paul High School,” Mr. Miller shared upon receiving news of his appointment as principal. “In collaboration with the school community, my goal is to continue to build upon the legacy established by the thousands of St. Paul High School alumni, teachers, and administrators. Through the pursuit of excellence and the growth of relationships within our St. Paul family, I am confident we will foster an inclusive, well-rounded, high- achieving learning community.”
On behalf of the entire Department of Catholic Schools, I wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. Kate Aceves for her many years of service to the St. Paul Community. Mrs. Aceves will begin working with Mr. Miller immediately to help ensure a smooth transition.
Please join us in celebrating and supporting Mr. Miller in this new role and keep him and the entire St. Paul High School Community in your prayers. Please know of my prayers for the continued growth and success of the school.
God bless,
Paul Escala
