ACADEMICS & GRADING
The academic year is based on two semesters and a traditional A – F grading system is used (A=90%, B=80%, c=70%, D=60%, F=59% or lower). Students are ranked by total G.P.A. Our current student body is 570 in grades 9-12.
SCHOOL DEMOGRAPHICS
The majority of our students come from the neighboring cities of Whittier, La Habra, La Mirada, Pico Rivera, Norwalk, Downey, and Montebello. The economic profile of our families is vast, ranging from professional to domestic. Our beautiful diversity includes students from different creeds and races including Filipino, Asian, African-American, Native American, Caucasian, with the majority of students being of Hispanic descent.
ATHLETIC PROGRAM
In accordance with our philosophy of education, we encourage all students to participate in some form of athletics. St. Paul High School is a member of the Camino Del Rey and Mission Leagues and is subject to their constitutions and bylaws.
The school fields nine sports for boys (football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf, wrestling, and track and field) and seven sports for girls (volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, softball, golf and track and field).
ACTIVITIES
Students are required to participate in our Christian Service Program and they attend class retreats (Kairos for seniors). Students can participate in ASB, Band, Drill Team, Pep Squad, Chorus, Drama, Yearbook, School newspaper and Homecoming.
School honor societies are National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation and Spanish Honor Society. Traditional clubs include Recycling Club, Intra-mural Club and Rotary Interact Club. Each year new clubs are formed, driven by student interest.
