Please take the time to review the scholarship information below, and encourage your son or daughter to apply if they meet the criteria.  Check the deadlines carefully!  Also, see the attachments related to the scholarships described.

JUNIOR GIRLS (ONLY): DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP
The Distinguished Young Women Program offers college scholarships on the local, state, and national levels to talented and high-achieving girls of the junior class.  Participating girls are evaluated on scholarship, talent, fitness, self-expression, and interview. GIRLS AGES 14-19: "DREAM IT-- BE IT" SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This scholarship program is open to girls ages 14-19, and is sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Santa Fe Springs.   Please see the attached parent letter, application and the rules and regulations for the program.  The deadline for emailing the applications is December 16, 2016 and the first meeting is January 3, 2017.


SENIORS: EDISON SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Current high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA who plan to attend a four-year university and major in a STEM field (mathematics, engineering, computer and information services, management information systems, natural resources and conservation and physical sciences) are eligible to apply for the Edison Scholars scholarships.  The deadline for applications is February 1, 2017.
See the attached flyer for details on the exact degree majors which will qualify a student.

SENIORS: "GUARANTEED" SCHOLARSHIPS
The website featured here offers info on "guaranteed" scholarships.  These scholarships are guaranteed by nearly 100 colleges to students who meet the individual listed criteria for each, and commit to attending the particular college/university...  No essays, projects, recommendations or other secondary criteria are required.
