Choir
The St. Paul Choir consists of more than 50 dedicated students. Many of the
students who participate in choir also participate in other school activities,
including Campus Ministry, ASB, Pep Squad, Football, Volleyball, Golf, and Track
and Field. The choir has numerous performing opportunities throughout the year,
including two major performances with the band as well as a performance
spotlighting the solo work of individual students. This talented group of young
people is made up of several smaller groups which cater to the students’
abilities and allows the students to experience a broad range of music.
Swordsmen Chorale is open to all members who want to join, regardless of ability
level, musical experience, or grade. It meets after school once a week as well
as once a week in the morning.
Swordsmen Chorale Honors is a more select group for those students who wish to
expand their experience of choral repertoire and challenge themselves to reach a
higher standard. It is open only to upper classmen, and meets in the morning.
St. Paul Singers is a class scheduled during the school day, and is structured
to teach not only singing but also the basics of music theory, ear training, and
sight singing. It is open to all interested students.
Praise Band and Choir meets during the lunch period and provides music
for the masses celebrated at St. Paul.
This year, the choirs will host 4 separate concerts: a fall choral
concert; a Christmas concert with the band; a Showcase in the spring,
highlighting solo performances; and a spring concert with the band.
