4th Annual ST. PAUL Golf Classic

The St. Paul High School Annual Golf Tournament will take place on May 14, 2012 at Friendly Hills Country Club in Whittier. This event has raised over $45,000 in the last 3 years. These funds go directly into supporting St. Paul Athletic and Activities Programs.

 This is a great opportunity to play at one of the premier golf facilities in the area, spend time with friends and support SPHS. The tournament will feature a putting challenge, longest drive contest, closest to the pin challenge, straightest drive, and the always exciting helicopter golf ball drop!

Join us once again this year as we honor TOM KLEMENS. Tom, a graduate of the SPHS class of ’68, passed away in January 2006. He was a faithful patron and proud alumnus of St. Paul High School. It was Tom who implemented the original St. Paul Golf Tournament and oversaw it for many years. Coach Marijon Ancich remembers, “Tom Klemens was a committed, hard working player who over achieved on the football field. His play and work ethic became an example of the ‘typical St. Paul football guy’ in the years to come.” After graduating from Cal Poly SLO in 1972, Tom was a valued top executive in his industry. A member of several prestigious societies and organizations, in 2003, Tom was named the first-ever CFO of the Year by the Orange County chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute and the University of California, Irvine Extension. As you can see, Tom had great success in his career over the years and he directly attributed his achievements to the education and fellowship he found at St. Paul High School. It is in his honor that the Annual Golf Tournament was renamed. Tom is survived by his wife Pat, two children, Jeff and Kelly, and his parents Chester and Alice, who put Tom and his 5 brothers and sisters through St. Paul. A true SPHS family legacy that still lives on today!
