| Course Description |
This is an intermediate level course, which develops student dance skill in a variety of dance forms and styles. This course is for students with relatively little dance experience but have the passion for this performing art. Students will engage in daily aerobic activity, improving their cardio-vascular performance. Literature will cover some history of musical theatre and choreographers and written research, analysis and discussion on musicals from Broadway and television will be integrated in the curriculum. Dance genres will include but not limited to ballet, jazz dance, modern dance, tap, lyrical, social dance (swing, line dancing, disco, jitterbug), hip hop, yoga, and drama story. Demonstration of skills in creative discovery and expression which include movement exploration, improvisation, choreography and performance will also be emphasized. |
